Late race contact can't put out the fire...

The Michigan speedway is one of the most fun tracks on the tour. This year's race was nothing short of spectacular. A mix of strategy, finesse, brute strength and raw nerves is the only way to sum up 90 laps of competition at Michigan.

The ECI Enterprises AMSOIL Pontiac was in a position to win but late race contact with another competitor resulted in solid contact with the wall and relegated a potential winning effort into an eight place finish.

Kevin Inglin - "The car was strong all night and we were biding our time and hanging with the lead draft. The late race caution setup a sprint run to the finish. Any number of drivers in that lead pack could have won tonight and when you have to run that hard at the end of a race something's bound to happen. It's a shame but tonight it was our turn. I have no regrets though as it was one of the most competitive races we've run in a long time. We had a car to win tonight but it's nobody's fault, just a racin' deal."

"Next week we go to the road course
of Sears Point. I'm just going to try
and keep it off the grass!"
