Celebrating Independence Daytona Style...

Fans and Drivers alike love Daytona. The epitome of speed and strategy, this 2.5 mile oval never fails to amaze.

It was a hard earned top five this week for the ECI Enterprises AMSOIL Pontiac. Stellar teamwork from the MINT motorsports contingent helped solidify a strong run for most of the team. Incidental contact for Rick Simpson was the only thing that stood between a four car sweep.

An early caution almost swept up the AMSOIL Pontiac. Contact in the front of the field produced the nights only 'big one'. With no vision and limited time to react, Kevin swerved just the right way and dodged the melee with no damage.

Kevin Inglin - "The car was all over the place tonight but I just bid my time, gave lots of room and tried to keep it on the bottom. The team had great communications and we were there at the end when it counted. That early race wreck was incredible. I just don't know how I got through that one unscathed. I slipped with one to go and let Grant Farr get by me. We charged hard into turn one on that last lap and made contact. Grant and Dan Bailey went in high and I rode the yellow line. Grant must have seen me coming and tried to get back to the bottom and protect his line. We made incidental contact but it was enought to send both of us spinning. I hit it pretty hard but was able to bring it back to the finish dispite two front flats! I'm still grinning. Tore up a race car but it doesn't get any better than that".
