Sweet Home Chicago...

The NASSCAR division's only been to Chicago for a couple of years but what a tricky little track to drive. Many say that NASCAR tracks have become cookie cutter but ChicagoLands distinct turns and tight radius's make this a fun track to drive.

This weeks fortune took a turn for the worse in the Lightning division as a glitch with the game knocked us from competition just prior to qualifying. Windows crashed and upon relaunch of the game, all of the graphics settings had been reset. Shadow rendering doesn't mix well with the ATI card and the race started before the problem could be resolved.

Not to be denied, the ECI Enterprises AMSOIL team took advantage of an invite to run the Pro race on Wednesday evening. With little chance to prepare, the team took to the speedway with the leagues fixed setup. It wasn't too long before it was painfully obvious that the setup just wouldn't turn in the cloudy conditions. Pitting early for tires, Kevin soldiered on and kept adjusting the car through the run. Minimal cautions meant these adjustments would come under green flag conditions. Toward the end of the race, the car was adjusted as good as it could be and was neutral for the first twenty laps of the run and then wouldn't turn again. Kevin took it in stride and brought it home in 8th place.

Kevin Inglin - "I'm really disappointed that we missed the Lightning race. We were prepared to have a good run and I was hoping for another top 5. At least we got to take in the PRO race. I just tried to stay out of the way and keep the car in one piece. It was evident that we missed the setup but I continued on through the race to get some valuable experience. The car was very comfortable but we were at least one to two seconds off on our lap time. I have to offer an apology to Mike Koon for pinching him there in turn three. He was coming with a full load of steam and I didn't realize how quickly he was closing the gap."
