Luck Turns Lousy at Loudon...

Start - 9th | Competitors - 13| High - 7th | Low - 12th | Finish - 10th

For a track that always generates high expectations, New Hampshire has become a mystery as of late. Loudon has always been a strong point in the season but lately the performance and ability to cash in at the New England oval has taken a back seat to bad luck and mediocre showings.

A small field was on hand for the last visit to the New Hampshire oval this year. The team struggled right off the trailer with the ECI AMSOIL Pontiac as the car just wasn't comfortable with the race setup under it. Starting 10th, Kevin was biding his time and rose up to the 7th position in the early stages of the 120 lap race. Lap 27 is where the luck turned for the worse as Kevin was approaching David Gray for position and Gray lost control of his mount as he broke loose under acceleration off the fourth turn. Reminiscent of the Pocono incident earlier in the year with Greg Sinclear, Kevin had no place to go and ricocheted off the sliding Pepsi mount and into the outside concrete barrier. To make matters worse, before the car refired, the leader cruised by and place the AMSOIL Pontiac a lap down. Pitting for damage, the bad luck wasn't over. More pain was inflicted when a freak event occurred. Kevin hit the Windows Key on his keyboard and inadvertently went out of the game to the desktop. Upon return the car was sitting in the fence and severely damaged. All hope of a solid run was out the window as Kevin had no choice but to soldier on and salvage a tenth place finish.
