Two laps, the car was pristine for two laps. When it rains it pours and such is the luck of the ECI team again this week. A poor qualifying effort relegated the AMSOIL Chevy to a 'lucky' thirteenth starting spot. The field made it under the starter stand just twice before Glen Brown broke loose in turn one, slid across the apron and across the track in front of the nose of the Chevy. Both cars piled into the outside wall and the 39 ride was damaged and off the pace for the rest of the run.
Kevin, dare we say it again, soldiered on once more and even though he was one lap down at one stage, he charged back to the lead lap and hung in for a top ten finish. During the last segment of the race he was as high as eighth place and challenging in the draft but time took its toll as with the body damage, he couldn't hang with the lead pack and slipped to ninth in the final standings.
.Kevin Inglin, the pilot of the AMSOIL Chevy had this to say after the run:
"Here we go again. Seems every year we have a string of races that just takes the wind out of our sails. Glen got loose on lap two and was sideways on the apron. I saw him and decided to try and power around him on the outside. As I approached his car popped out on the track in a cloud of smoke. I was committed to go high but couldn't see a thing. I tried to squeeze between him and the fence and just didn't have enough room. I hate limping around to the finish but at least we salvaged a top ten. Its degrading to race all night when you're off the pace.
We actually had a couple of challenges tonight. One was with our teammate who met his demise again this time against the third turn wall. Our luck has been bad lately, but Dan's luck has been just plain abysmal."
