Race Report - April 19th, 2005

Two timing Texas - this is the first year for two stops in Texas and there sure are a lot of happy Texans and who could blame them. Another quad-oval mecca, Texas has matured into one of the more important stops on the tour.

The ECI Express unloaded a little behind the curve and struggled to find speed throughout the weekend. For the first time this season, the AMSOIL Chevy started from the lower half of the starting grid. Kevin made decent progress in the beginning stages but pushed up off of turn two on lap twenty-four and brushed the wall. Loosing touch with the lead draft, Kevin held on for as long as he could but was dropping fast. The AMSOIL Chevy headed for pit road on lap 66 while running twelfth. The intent was to short pit but as luck always has it for the ECI express team, the caution waived soon thereafter and Kevin found himself one lap down.

Essentially the rest of the race was spent riding around and trying to stay out of trouble. The lap lost resulted in a second lap lost as happens sometimes and Kevin finished fifteenth, two laps down.
