It's clear to almost any individual that Indy is hollowed grounds. If you asked a non-race fan about auto racing they would probably come back with commentary about Indianapolis or the Indy 500. In the past ten years there's been a new game in town as the NASSCAR stock cars have taken to the speedway and covet the milk from victory lane as much as their open wheel brethren.

The ECI AMSOIL racing team arrived at Indy with one goal in mind and that was to get to the finish. The Indy track has not been kind in the past and when the final tally was in for 2005 it would be mixed results. Kevin started in seventh and ran in the top ten for the first half of the event. With only two cautions in the event, track position was important but not as important as keeping all of the fenders on the car. Even the slightest aero problems at Indy have a huge impact on performance.

Kevin pitted at the mid stage of the race and returned to the battle tenth in the running order. Unfortunately the car washed up in turn three and severely damaged the right front and side. The impact caused the car to not only loose speed but resulted in a strong push in the corners which wore the tires. Having made his last pitstop on lap forty-eight, Kevin had no option but ride it out to the finish and get what he could get. What he got was eleventh, forty-four seconds behind eventual winner Michel Palardy.

Kevin Inglin, the pilot of the AMSOIL Chevy had this to say after the run:

"I'm not sure what I need to do to get around here. I've struggled with consistency and keeping the car from pushing into the wall. I did well in that aspect for the CFRL support race and came home in third there. Here I brushed the wall after that last pit and the car was terrible.

THis place reminds us of our old home - Flemington Speedway. It's like Flemington's turns with longer straightaways."
